About

Bio

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Jacob Kauff, I’m an avid runner, trail runner, skier, kiteboarder, and mountaineer.

I graduated from Pitzer College as a pre-medical student and majored in Philosophy with a concentration in aesthetics. During my time as an undergraduate I conducted surgical outcomes research at the University of Washington and interned at Kaiser Permanente where I worked on improving student-provider shadowing opprotunities for high school students.

After moving to NYC during the pandemic, I worked for Pilgrim Surf & Supply, a Brooklyn surf shop and designer brand. It is here, having witnessed the design process up close, that I began sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping and field testing my own outdoor product designs.

The intersection of these interests and backgrounds—human anatomy, research, design, and a love for the outdoors—has brought me to the world of sports product design.
